It was built in 1995 to relieve the aging facilities at Jackson field. The initial capacity at the stadium was initially 6,500, but in 2005 the capacity was expanded by expanding the east seats.

The stadium was named in honor of a former Fort Lewis A&M Aggies football player who suffered life-ending injuries on September 26, 1955, after a head injury occurred during a game against Trinidad State Junior College. Construction of the field began in 1958 with the first game held in the fall of 1959. The field is used for the lacrosse team as well.
Ralph Stocker Stadium
