Planning Red Rocks fall concerts transportation is a different problem from planning it in July. The 2026 season closes in mid-November, the shows start later, the amphitheatre sits at roughly 6,400 feet where November nights drop hard, and the walk back to a distant lot in the cold is the part nobody budgets for.

Below is what remains on the calendar and how to get there. For a fixed-rate ride with a pre-agreed pickup point, call (720) 694-7791.

Parking is free and staff direct you to the best available lot — but free parking and easy parking are not the same thing on a sold-out night.

Why the Cold Changes the Calculation

Summer shows forgive a long walk. November shows do not.

The amphitheatre sits at around 6,400 feet, and temperatures drop sharply after sunset — often far below what you left in Denver. Most evening concerts finish between 10:30pm and 11:00pm, which means you are walking uphill to a distant lot close to midnight in near-freezing conditions.

Three things follow:

The Stairs Problem

From the upper lots you enter near the top of the amphitheatre and walk down to your row — easy going in, an uphill climb on the way out, in the dark, at altitude, in the cold.

From the lower lots you climb a long stairway up to reach the venue before the show even starts.

Either way you are covering serious elevation change on foot. If anyone in your group has mobility concerns, check the venue’s accessible parking and drop-off provisions ahead of time — spaces are limited and generally require arriving early.

The Exit Is the Whole Problem

Getting to Red Rocks is straightforward on any option. Getting out is where they separate.

Thousands of people leave within the same few minutes, through a small number of narrow park access roads, in an area with patchy cell coverage. Rideshare surges steeply, waits run 20 to 45 minutes, and requests get cancelled. The lots take 45 to 90 minutes to clear on a full house.

A private vehicle sidesteps all of it — you agree a pickup point and time before you go in, and it is there. The same logic applies at Denver’s stadiums, which our Empower Field transportation guide covers.

Five Things to Know Before a Fall Show

  1. Most shows are rain or shine, and mountain weather moves fast. Watch the forecast and check the venue’s severe weather policy.
  2. Check the bag policy before you leave — restrictions are enforced at the gate.
  3. Agree an exact meeting point before you walk in. Cell service is unreliable in the park.
  4. Hydrate. Altitude, alcohol and stairs catch people out every season.
  5. Book vehicles early for the marquee nights — Halloween weekend and the closing shows go first.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Red Rocks from Denver?

About 15 miles west, near Morrison — roughly 30 minutes without event traffic, considerably longer on a sold-out night.

Is parking free at Red Rocks?

Yes, and staff direct you to the best available lot. Lots fill early on show nights, so late arrivals face a long walk.

How cold does it get at a November show?

Cold. At around 6,400 feet the temperature drops sharply after sunset, often well below Denver. Layers, hat, gloves and a blanket.

Does rideshare surge after Red Rocks concerts?

Reliably. Thousands request cars at once in an area with limited access roads and patchy signal. Expect elevated pricing and a 20 to 45 minute wait.

Can a private car pick us up right after the show?

Yes — you agree a pickup point and time in advance and the vehicle is there, with no surge and no queue. Call (720) 694-7791.

What’s the best option for a group of ten?

A Sprinter or high-roof van on a single hourly booking. Simpler than coordinating three cars, and nobody has to stay sober to drive.
